Dodec was founded in 1975 by Rosaire Bonneau and four partners. He was and is still a farsighted person, who made the firm an enviable business in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region. A master machinist with vast experience and knowledge in machining activities and equipment both as a machinist and as a foreman, he devoted his life to building the firm.
Dodec's machine shops is located in a highly industrial region where there are several major aluminum smelters (Vallée de l’aluminium), pulp and paper mills, forestry industries, numerous major hydropower stations, an international sea port and a military air force/civilian airport. There are also a few other major industries in the metal, paper, construction and energy sector in regions next to the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Initially, Dodec specialized in repairing and fabricating components mainly for the pulp and paper industry, but it then expanded by diversifying and meeting other major industry needs. It acquired additional highly skilled machinists and welders who greatly contributed to establishing the firm as an expert in machining and welding in the field of metal processing and fabrication.
In the late 90’s, Rosaire Bonneau’s son and daughters gradually took over the management of the firm. Jean-Luc, Sylvie, Sonia and Marie-Jeanne Bonneau are now in charge of the firm’s growth and continuity, with over 100 dedicated employees.
